Magstim at the Royal College of Psychiatrists
Last month, Magstim attended the Royal College of Psychiatrists conference, where Neuromodulation Techniques, particularly Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), took center stage. A key highlight was Professor Richard Morris’ presentation on the BRIGhTMIND study, which demonstrated the effectiveness of TMS as a first-line treatment over Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT). With positive results and a milder side effect profile, Professor Morris urged practitioners to consider TMS as an alternative to ECT.
Growing Interest in TMS
The Magstim booth saw numerous Psychiatrists curious about TMS as a therapy for patients unresponsive to current treatments. Many NHS Psychiatrists expressed interest in acquiring TMS systems not only for depression treatment but also to explore its potential in clinical trials for other mental health conditions.
A Promising Future
The conference highlighted TMS’s expanding role in mental health care. As clinicians witness positive outcomes from studies like BRIGhTMIND, the adoption of TMS continues to grow. Magstim is proud to support this progress, advancing innovative and patient-focused treatments.
